UEFA confirm five-substitutions rule

The Reds are back in Europe's premier club competition and are eagerly awaiting the draw next month.

It has been clarified that up to five substitutions will continue to be allowed in the Champions League and Europa League for the remainder of the 2020/21 season. Consequently, the number of players allowed on the match sheet will be increased to 23.

The Premier League currently permits three substitutions per game.

The UEFA Youth League will not commence until March 2021, with more details to be released in due course.

The Under-19s competition is to feature straight knock-out matches from the round of 64 and not mirror the senior group fixtures, as has previously been the case, due to travelling and organisational difficulties amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
