Transfer news: Garner moves on

The midfielder, who has been capped seven times by England’s Under-21s, first joined United as an eight-year-old, in 2009.

After rising up the ranks he broke through at Under-18s level towards the end of the 2016/17 campaign and was a regular in the side the following season, as the young Reds won the Premier League North title.

James's performances convinced first-team manager Jose Mourinho to include him on the summer tour of the United States in 2018 but it was under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he would make his professional debut at Crystal Palace in February 2019.
