Tim Howard banned for three matches after appearing to call a fan a 'motherf*****' during Colorado Rapids' defeat to Sporting Kansas City

Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has been banned for three matches and fined after appearing to call a fan a 'motherf*****'.

The 38-year-old was disciplined after also having an 'altercation' with a fan following the Colorado Rapids' defeat by Sporting Kansas City last week.

MLS have not published details of the incident which prompted Howard's ban, though a video has emerged online in which the goalkeeper appears to swear at Kansas supporters telling him to 'go back to Colorado'.

Some fans claimed that the 38-year-old also put his middle finger up to the crowd while, after the final whistle, Howard squared up to Kansas' Dom Dwyer.
