Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has confirmed reports that Manchester United are interested in signing him.
Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his back-four in the upcoming summer transfer window and the Red Devils are long-term admirers of Varane.
Mourinho was in charge at the Bernabeu when the France centre-back arrived at the club from Lens in 2011.
And, speaking in an interview on Spanish, the 24-year-old has confirmed his former boss has been in contact over a switch to Old Trafford.
Asked if he had been called by Mourinho to go to United, Varane told El Larguero: "No, not directly.
