A record number of fans watched Manchester United's top of the table clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

The showdown at Anfield had an average of 4.5million viewers and 4.8m viewers in the final five minutes – making it the biggest audience for a game shown only on Sky Sports in Britain.

Sky have since revealed that only Game of Thrones has achieved bigger viewing than fixture which ended in a 0-0 draw.
