It was a special moment for our Thai supporters' club, too – a delegation was in town to mark the branch's 10th anniversary with a special pitchside reception.
While a melancholy feel covered Old Trafford before kick-off, the Thailand Reds were doubly proud to be present on such a poignant day in M16.
“Being an international supporter means that we don't get to travel to Manchester regularly,” explains the group's lead contact, Pete Warinsee.
“But everyone knows about United's history. Sir Bobby… he was a true gentleman. I got a chance to be in the same room with him and he had such a gracious presence.
