Steven Davis leaves Northern Ireland camp for personal reasons... and captain will have to wait to equal Home Nations caps record held by Peter Shilton

Steven Davis has left Northern Ireland's camp for personal reasons and will have to wait to equal the Home Nations record of 125 caps held by England goalkeeper Peter Shilton.

The absence of Northern Ireland's captain from Wednesday's final Nations League game against Romania in Belfast could hand an opportunity to Manchester United teenager Ethan Galbraith.

'Steven Davis took a call last night and he's had to go home, so for personal reasons he is out of the squad,' said manager Ian Baraclough who has already granted compassionate leave to Kyle Lafferty and George Saville.
