Sir Alex Ferguson watches his son in action as he prepares to buy £1.2million home to be closer to his grandchildren after death of his beloved wife Cathy

Sir Alex Ferguson took time out of his schedule to watch his son Darren in action on the touchline on Tuesday night.

Darren Ferguson, 51, represented the likes of Man United, Wolves, Sparta Rotterdam and Wrexham during his playing career.

He has since followed his father into management and is currently in charge of Peterborough for the fourth time, while he has also had spells with Preston and Doncaster Rovers.

And on Tuesday, Sir Alex was spotted in attendance at the Lamex Stadium as Stevenage hosted the Posh in top of the table clash in League One.
