The Manchester United midfielder was presented with the trophy at Carrington by Darren Fletcher this week, after beating off competition from the likes of John McGinn, Andy Robertson and Callum McGregor.

It was just reward for his outstanding efforts and provides a fillip ahead of our big Emirates FA Cup quarter-final tie with Liverpool on Sunday.

Fletcher described the accolade as being "thoroughly deserved" and said he was looking forward to going to the Euro 2024 finals in Germany to help wish the nation he captained the best of luck.

McTominay enjoyed a fabulous year for the national team and was a key reason why Steve Clarke's side qualified for the big tournament this summer.
