In that glorious year, Alex Ferguson's team became only the second United side to retain the league title, and the first since the devastating Munich Air Disaster of 1958.

And with what bracing style we accomplished that feat, finishing eight points clear of Blackburn Rovers with a whopping 92 points, and serving up a delicious platter of sublime goals.
