With Arsene Wenger confirming he will send his 22-year-old reign in the summer, speculation is rife over who will succeed the Frenchman.
Liverpool number two Zeljko Buvac is the surprise bookmakers' favourite but it has been reported that Faria is also on the north London club's shortlist.
Faria has been Mourinho's most trusted lieutenant since 2001, working as his number two at six different clubs.
