Rio Ferdinand reveals how he was forced to close his bar in Leeds after police warned him 'people will be coming down to mash it up' following his £30m transfer to bitter rivals Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand has revealed how he was forced to close his bar because of the bitter rivalry between Manchester United and Leeds.

The England international became the world's most expensive defender for a second time when he moved from Elland Road for Old Trafford for £30million in 2002.

But the controversial move did not go go down well with fans of the Yorkshire club and Ferdinand received a call from the police.

He had just opened 'Sutra' in Leeds, but recently detailed how he was forced to shut the bar down quickly after his switch.
