Real Madrid 'eye Manchester United target Pau Torres as Sergio Ramos' replacement... but Spanish giants may have to wait until NEXT SUMMER to move for highly-rated Villarreal defender with club unable to meet £43m price tag'

Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring Villarreal star Pau Torres as Los Blancos begin their search for Sergio Ramos' replacement following the veteran's departure this summer.

Madrid waved goodbye to their long-serving defender this week, with the 35-year-old breaking down in his farewell press conference after being unable to strike an agreement over a contract extension.

Ramos' exit leaves Madrid with Raphael Varane, Eder Militao, Nacho and incoming defender David Alaba as senior centre halves, leaving Carlo Ancelotti slightly short of options in that area.
