Rashford talks us through his solo strike

Our no.10 was on the scoresheet in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Championship side Burnley at Old Trafford, with a quite brilliant solo goal in the second half to apply some breathing space for Erik ten Hag's team.

He told club media exactly how it all unfolded. “I was dribbling, just to try and entice one of them [Burnley defenders] to come out.

“I wanted to play it to Antony, but I think his run was a little bit early or me lifting my head up was a bit late.”

He added: “When I did lift my head up, I saw a gap, and I think he [Antony] was offside anyway so I thought ‘I’m just going to go for it’ and see if I can create an opportunity.
