Manchester United went into Thursday's away tie against Hull knowing that a good result made them favourites to win the EFL Cup. After Southampton knocked out Liverpool, having beaten them home and away, Jose Mourinho must have been rubbing his hands at the thought of his first silverware as United manager.
His team's unbeaten run is over but the fans won't be bothered as they've booked their place in the Wembley final. Hull were 2-1 winners on the night but the two-goal cushion from the first leg meant United had done enough to win the tie.
Tom Huddlestone opened the scoring with a controversial penalty before Paul Pogba equalised.
