Private jet believed to be carrying Sir Jim Ratcliffe lands in Manchester as Britain's richest man prepares to head to Old Trafford to make a presentation to United officials after his Saudi rivals held talks yesterday

A private jet believed to be carrying Sir Jim Ratcliffe touched down in Manchester today - with the billionaire set to hold talks with Man United chiefs to present his vision for the club.

The UK's richest man is expected at Old Trafford to discuss his potential takeover with club officials as he rivals a group of Qatari bidders - led by Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani - who gave their presentation on Thursday.

Sportsmail reported that talks between Al Thani's representatives and United chiefs went on for around ten hours and were positive as they were toured around Old Trafford and their Carrington training complex.
