Portugal were without Cristiano Ronaldo due to suspension but still produced a hugely impressive display, with Liverpool's Diogo Jota scoring a brace.
Portugal opened the scoring in the 12th minute, with Fernandes playing a brilliant pass with the outside of his boot to locate Goncalo Inacio.
Goncalo Ramos then hit a brace to extend Portugal's lead to 3-0.
Portugal went 4-0 up just before half-time, with Fernandes picking out Inacio again.
