Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the current restrictions in England are actually having a positive impact on his players’ fitness levels.

The boss has been fortunate with injuries this season and has only had one long-term absentee this term, in Phil Jones.

While there have been plenty of knocks along the way for his squad, by and large, Solskjaer has had plenty of options to choose from when picking his starting XIs.

The boss could have an almost full roster to choose from for Tuesday’s Premier League meeting with Burnley and, ahead of the clash, he explained that the current restrictions imposed by Covid-19 are enabling his players to rest and recover more efficiently.

“I think it’s going to be very important if you’ve managed to keep a fit squad,”

Ole told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
