Nottingham Forest open talks with Nice to sign Kasper Schmeichel as they continue to wait on Dean Henderson's fitness

Nottingham Forest are reputed to be among the clubs to have approached Kasper Schmeichel over a return to England from Nice.

The Denmark international has two clubs showing interest but Forest are first signing Matt Turner from Arsenal for £7million, pending his medical today, and are awaiting bulletins on Dean Henderson's fitness ahead of rekindling that move with Manchester United.

The 36-year-old Danish shot-stopper joined Nice in August 2022 after ending his successful spell with Leicester, where he claimed the Premier League title and FA Cup.

However, Schmeichel struggled to adapt to life in France - with some of his team-mates are growing frustrated by the fact he preferred solitary work to being part of their team training sessions.
