Marcus Rashford has paid tribute to his former team-mate Jesse Lingard after Man United's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, with the pair sharing an embrace at the final whistle before insisting the midfielder is 'more than just a friend'.
Lingard made his return to Old Trafford on Wednesday night having left United in the summer when his contract expired, with the player left fuming at the club after they failed to offer him a proper farewell despite spending 20 years at the club.
But after returning to his boyhood team, which he joined at the age of nine, the attacking midfielder was given a warm reception by the home crowd, receiving applause when he was substituted in the second half due to an injury.
