'Michael Carrick should have stayed’: Andrei Kanchelskis worries Manchester United are making a mistake hiring Ralf Rangnick as they need 'stability' to turn their season around

Andrei Kanchelskis says that Manchester United should have left Michael Carrick in control of the club until the end of the season.

Carrick will take charge of Sunday's trip to Chelsea but relinquish his duties once they return as the club have named Ralf Rangnick as the club's new interim manager.

Rangnick has signed a six month deal with the Red Devils - who were eager to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a temporary basis before hiring a permanent successor in the summer.
