Marcus Rashford could set a new Manchester United scoring record and overtake a long-held achievement from Sir Bobby Charlton in the process.

The 23-year-old put in an impressive display as the Reds beat Real Sociedad 4-0 on Thursday, in the first leg of our Europa League last-32 tie, with the United no.10 grabbing our third goal of the night.

That means Marcus has netted seven goals in European competitions this season, following the six he registered in the Champions League group stages earlier this campaign.

Excluding qualifiers, the only Englishman who can better that record for United in a single season is Sir Bobby, who scored eight for the Reds in the 1964/65 Fairs Cup. That means a goal in the second leg next week for Marcus would see him share that record with the Reds legend.
