Manchester United's players have been cleared to return to first team training after their Covid scare on Thursday.
Nine players and staff had returned positive lateral flow tests which prompted club doctors to send everyone home to self isolate and forced the cancellation of United’s friendly with Preston North End on Saturday.
However, the more conclusive PCR tests returned on Friday morning have confirmed all nine were ‘false positives’ and United staff will revert to their training schedule ahead of their forthcoming friendly with Everton.

A United statement confirmed: ‘After further testing yesterday and today, we can confirm there are no positive cases within the first team group.
