Manchester United are trying to steal Ajax star Donny van de Beek from Real Madrid's grasp, according to reports in Spain.
The Holland international was expected to make a move to Madrid last summer but as the Spanish giants couldn't offload Gareth Bale or James Rodriguez, Van de Beek had to stay put at Ajax for another season.
But now according to Spanish publication Marca, United will make a last-ditch offer for the 22-year-old as they look to pip Madrid to his signature.
The Red Devils understand that it will be difficult to steal Van de Beek from under Madrid's noses but the club will do everything they can to make their pursuit a success.
