A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Turkey and Syria at around 4 am local time on 6 February. Millions of people have been severely affected and sadly thousands have lost their lives. As well as the tragic loss of life, many more have been left homeless and without food as buildings and infrastructures collapsed.

Manchester United’s donation of £50,000 will provide important funds to aid UNICEF in their efforts to mobilise supplies and services to support the urgent needs of the children and families who have been affected. This is in addition to the £1 million donation being made to the humanitarian effort collectively by the Premier League via the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
