Manchester United missed out on the signing of Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby in the summer transfer window.
According to Bild, Diaby was United's main target in the closing stages of the window and they were willing to pay up to £45million for the Frenchman.
However, having been unable to secure the signing of Diaby, United turned their attention to Amad Diallo, who is set to complete his move to Old Trafford in January.
A product of PSG's academy, Diaby made 34 senior appearances for the French side prior to joining Leverkusen last year.
