A big part of Manchester United's struggles since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013 has been their lack of success in the transfer market.

The club have spent almost £1.6billion over the past decade and while it is too early to write off some of their recent buys, there are only a select few of their 55 signings in that time that have worked out and met their expectations.

Angel di Maria, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku are among those to sign for big money, only for their time at Old Trafford to not work out for a variety of reasons.
