Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero set for MLS move after hopes of joining Everton were crushed... which forced an angry outburst from his wife on social media

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is lining up a move to Major League Soccer after his hopes of joining Everton on deadline day were dashed.

Romero, who has been at home in Argentina while his future is resolved, wants to make a fresh start in America where the transfer window is open until October 29.

The 33-year-old thought he was moving to Goodison Park on loan as competition for Jordan Pickford, but the deal fell through when United demanded a fee and Everton signed Robin Olsen from Roma instead.
