Manchester United could turn to centre-back Pau Torres as a cheaper alternative to Jules Kounde, according to reports.
Sportsmail revealed earlier this week that United are reluctant to meet the Sevilla centre-back's £68million release clause despite retaining an interest in the Frenchman.
And now Eurosport claim Old Trafford chiefs could divert their attention to Villarreal defender Torres, who has established himself as a regular starter for the Spanish outfit over the course of the last two seasons.

The Spain international's £43m release clause is also reportedly seen as an attractive option in comparison to Kounde's clause, given the continued financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
