Manchester United club badge adds £50 to cost of 'official outdoor apparel' jacket in proof of Red Devils' commercial power

If you wondered why dozens of companies are paying Manchester United to become official partners here could be your answer.

In January, Columbia Sportswear became the club’s first ‘Official Outdoor Apparel Partner’ following the likes of Abengoa (Official Sustainable Technology Partner), Nissin (Official Global Noodle Partner) and HCL (Official Digital Transformation Partner).

The deal, which was signed for an undisclosed fee, allows the American manufacturer to plant the United badge on their products, which is exactly what they appear to have done here.
