Manchester United 'are set to SCRAP plans to leave their Carrington training ground due to the eye-watering cost of a proposed £200m site in Cheshire... with chiefs now planning to revamp their current base instead'

Manchester United have reportedly given up on plans to move away from their Carrington training ground after discovering it will cost too much money to relocate.

The Trafford Training Centre, more commonly known as Carrington, has been United's home since 2000 when they moved from their iconic The Cliff training ground.

Since moving to the new site seven miles away from Old Trafford and west of Manchester, the building has seen several upgrades including a medical centre and sports science department built in 2013.
