Manchester United are set to give the green light on Australia pre-season tour this summer with club confident there'll be no stumbling blocks for any unvaccinated stars by securing travel exemptions for those who need it

Manchester United are confident of taking a strong squad on the Australian leg of their pre-season tour despite stringent vaccination rules remaining in place.

United are on Thursday set to announce details of their first trip in three years, which includes a meeting with Liverpool in Bangkok on July 12.

The squad, who by then will have a new manager in charge, will move on to Australia. Both Melbourne and Perth have been mooted as potential destinations for up to three friendlies.

Any travel to Australia is complicated for unvaccinated visitors, however, who require a travel exemption in order to enter the country or quarantine for 14 days.
