Manchester United and England star Marcus Rashford urges Government to continue providing free meals for vulnerable children during the school holidays: 'I encourage you to hear their pleas and find your humanity'

England and Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has urged the Government to keep providing free meals for vulnerable children during the school holidays.

When schools were shut down in March amid the coronavirus lockdown, a food voucher scheme was set up to guarantee meals to children who had been reliant on food being provided at schools.

And now Rashford has expressed his concerns about the scheme coming to an end next month, penning a letter to members of the House of Commons.

'The government has taken a 'whatever it takes' approach to the economy - I'm asking you today to extend that same thinking to protecting all vulnerable children across England,' Rashford, who has raised a massive £20million to feed three million kids a week across Britain through charity Fareshare, wrote.
