However it has been revealed Manchester United star Jesse Lingard idolised Coronation Street character Fiz, played by Jennie McAlpine, when growing up.
The truth came out when Lingard and Smalling took part in a Q&A after joining up with the England squad.
Both players had to give their answers to questions which their respective mum's had already responded to.
