Manchester City WON'T be thrown out of the Carabao Cup if they can't play their semi-final against Man United next week due to Covid outbreak, with rules changing from the early rounds

Manchester City will not be booted out of the Carabao Cup if their Covid-19 crisis prevents the holders from facing Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Citizens' Premier League clash with Everton on Monday was called-off at the last minute after the Sky Blues announced the virus had infiltrated their squad bubble, with Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker among five already isolating.

Man United will not be handed a bye into the Wembley final though, despite Leyton Orient leaving the competition at the third-round in the same circumstances.
