Man United are set to receive their delayed bids in the next 24 HOURS - after Sheikh Jassim and Jim Ratcliffe MISSED Raine Group's soft deadline - while former AC Milan chiefs lodge proposal for minority stake

Delayed bids for Manchester United are set to land in the next 24 hours.

On Wednesday night, the process descended into chaos when it emerged that, contrary to claims from representatives to the contrary, neither the Qatar-based bid or that of Sir Jim Ratcliffe had actually been submitted ahead of the 9pm deadline set by US merchant bank Raine Group, which is handling the process.

Instead, both the Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani group and Ratcliffe’s Ineos firm asked for and were given more time.

Both visited Manchester last week for tours of Old Trafford and Carrington and are thought to have needed extra hours to finalise what will be their second bids.
