Manchester United will launch their summer rebuild under Ruben Amorim by signing Matheus Cunha – but have yet to trigger his £62.5million release clause at Wolves.
Cunha has agreed terms over a five-year contract with the option of an additional year, and could travel to Manchester for a medical this week once United make a formal approach to Wolves.
However, United have yet to activate the clause in Cunha's contract which has to be paid in three instalments of £20.85m over two years.
United would like to complete a deal for the 25-year-old Brazilian by the end of May, kicking off what is expected to be a busy summer of ins and outs at Old Trafford.
