Man United 1-2 Brighton: Erik ten Hag's reign gets off to an awful start as Pascal Gross's brace seals victory for the visitors at a stunned Old Trafford... and even Cristiano Ronaldo can't save them!

Manchester United fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton in their Premier League season opener on Sunday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag's United tenure got off to the worst start possible when Pascal Gross scored a first-half brace to stun the hosts and put the Seagulls' in the driving seat of the match.

An Alexis Mac Allister own goal gave the Red Devils a life-line but it proved too little, too late for United who will have to rectify themselves against Brentford next week.
