Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah look set to go head-to-head to win PFA Player of the Year after being named on the six-man shortlist.

The Manchester City and Liverpool pair were joined by Harry Kane, Leroy Sane, David De Gea and David Silva as nominees for the prestigious award, which was announced live on BBC's Football Focus.

Eden Hazard, Roberto Firmino and Raheem Sterling were among the high-profile names to miss out on a nomination for this year's prize.

Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne have been named on the PFA Player of the Year shortlist

De Bruyne and Salah are the two favourites to follow in 2016-2017 winner N'Golo Kante's footsteps and scoop the gong.
