Jose Mourinho refuses to accept Manchester United defeat at Hull as he ignores penalty: 'It was 1-1, we are still unbeaten, 18 matches is amazing'

Jose Mourinho refused to accept that Manchester United's unbeaten run was over after seeing his side reach the final of the EFL Cup despite a 2-1 defeat at Hull City.

The Portuguese - pictured later on the team bus with a bottle of wine and a 54th birthday cake - believes United are now unbeaten in 18 matches, it was 17 in league and cup entering the second leg. Mourinho would not acknowledge Hull's opening goal, a Tom Huddlestone penalty awarded by referee Jon Moss for a Marcos Rojo shirt-tug on Harry Maguire.

Paul Pogba equalised after half-time before Oumar Niasse scored for the hosts late on.
