Jamie Carragher aims dig at Man United legend by labelling him a 'poor man's Virgil van Dijk' during TV studio debate on the best Premier League centre-backs

Jamie Carragher reignited his feud with Rio Ferdinand by labelling the Man United legend a ‘poor man’s Virgil van Dijk’.

The former Reds defender aimed a fresh dig as he watched highlights of Liverpool's 4-1 victory over Luton on Wednesday night.

Van Dijk sparked the comeback win after powering a header into the back of the net from a corner, much to the delight of Carragher, who was working on CBS’ Champions League coverage.

Pundit Micah Richards asked Carragher for his view of Van Dijk's goal.

‘You don’t need to analyse that,’ Carragher said on Richards’ Instagram story.
