Legendary former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson celebrated a double at Cheltenham on Thursday, with friends toasting victories at the famous festival.

He watched as 25-1 shot Monmiral won the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle before Protektorat romped to victory in the Ryanair Chase at odds of 17-2.

Victory in the Ryanair Chase pocketed him £218,398, with a purse of £56,270 for the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle. His double worked out at a stunning 246/1.

Footage showed Six Alex revelling in the victory with long-time friends Ged Mason and John Hales, as well as stars from sport and the small screen.
