'If you're performing at United, England's ALWAYS round the corner': Marcus Rashford revels in his return to Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad - as his equaliser inspires Man United's comeback against Aston Villa

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford admitted he was happy to be back amongst the England fold after being named in Gareth Southgate's 26-man World Cup squad on Thursday.

The 25-year-old celebrated his international call-up with a superb man of the match performance against Aston Villa that evening, as his side came from behind to win 4-2 at Old Trafford to advance to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

After Diogo Dalot's own goal put Aston Villa 2-1 ahead midway through the second half, Rashford showed great composure to fire home an equaliser in the 67th minute, before late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay sealed the Red Devils' victory.
