Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was wrong to make a scapegoat out of Luke Shaw against Brighton, according to Tony Cascarino.
The Portuguese manager withdrew Shaw at half-time during the FA Cup quarter-final clash at Old Trafford, which United went on to win 2-0.
However, pundits have criticised Mourinho for his harsh treatment of the left-back, with former Chelsea striker Cascarino feeling especially sympathetic with the 22-year-old.
Speaking on the Weekend Sports Breakfast, he said: “I don’t like it when managers go for players, scapegoats.
“I think it’s an easy way to get out of it.
