Paul Scholes has branded Manchester United's decision to hand 33-year-old free agent Edinson Cavani a two-year deal on deadline day last week 'very strange'.

The club legend believes that United have signed the Uruguayan five years too late, and does not expect him to take Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to the next level this season.

When asked how he expects the former PSG hitman to fare at Old Trafford, he told Stadium Astro: 'Well, we'll have to wait and see won't we.
