Santos president Jose Carlos Peres has revealed he is interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.
The Brazilian established himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first team with 37 appearances in the 2019-20 season, but he has acknowledged a return to his home country would lead to tears of joy.
The 24-year-old is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2023, but an offer to sign for his boyhood club could prove difficult to turn down.
Santos chief Peres has been in close contact with Pereira and he believes the Belgium-born star is bound to represent the Serie A club in the future.
