Harry Maguire IGNORES the Wembley boo boys with 'enjoyable week playing for my country' Twitter post as his England team-mates rally around him and Gareth Southgate describes the abuse from his own fans as an 'absolute joke'

Harry Maguire has ignored the England fans who booed him during the friendly with Ivory Coast by tweeting about his 'enjoyable week playing for my country.'

A section of the Wembley crowd jeered the Manchester United defender both before and during England's 3-0 win on Tuesday night.

It led to a furious Gareth Southgate slamming the booing as an 'absolute joke' and team-mates Jordan Henderson and Declan Rice backing Maguire on social media.

But Maguire seems to have brushed off the criticism, posting a picture from the game on his Twitter account and the message 'Enjoyable week playing for my country' with an England flag and heart emoji.
