'Getting back out of my lane!': Jamie Carragher hits back at Patrice Evra after former Manchester United man took a swipe at his old Liverpool rival for his comments on Cristiano Ronaldo's struggles at Old Trafford

Jamie Carragher has hit back at fellow pundit Patrice Evra after the Frenchman took a swipe at him for his criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was handed the captain's armband by Ralf Rangnick on Monday evening but he failed to galvanise his team-mates as they delivered another below-par display to lose 1-0 at home to Wolves.

The result has raised fresh questions over the Portuguese star's impact since returning to Old Trafford last summer, a question that Carragher addressed back in November during a heated debate with Roy Keane.
