Football world wishes Sir Alex Ferguson full recovery after former Manchester United boss suffers brain haemorrhage

The football world was shocked to learn legend of the game Sir Alex Ferguson was admitted to hospital for a brain haemorrhage on Saturday.

Sir Alex, 76, underwent emergency surgery tonight which has gone "very well", according to a statement released by his former club Manchester United.

The Scot is now in intensive care as he looks to make a full recovery.

After learning about the news, many across the footballing world have taken to Twitter to send their best wishes to Sir Alex.
