Fixtures 2021/22: United ready to welcome fans

Measures imposed by the UK government to suppress the spread of the COVID-19 virus meant that the vast majority of matches in the last 15 months have been played behind closed doors.

Old Trafford staged only one match in the entire 2020/21 season that was attended by fans, on 18 May when a limited crowd of 10,000 witnessed United's 1-1 draw with Fulham - including that extraordinary goal by Edinson Cavani - as some restrictions started to be lifted.

The Reds' final league game, away to Wolves five days later, was played in front of 4,500 home supporters and there were an estimated 2,000 fans from each club at Stadion Miejski in Gdau0144sk, Poland when United faced Villarreal in the Europa League final.
